John died of metastatic melanomas in his liver - a particularly aggressive terminal cancer. He bore the pain and anxiety with such incredible determination but even the short time he suffered was for us far too long.
As a family we all strongly believe that people who are suffering, with no hope of relief, should not be forced by law to prolong their lives to the ultimate painful end.
